BEST Villas & Boutique Hotels in Plaka Beach, Naxos [2026]
Plaka Beach is one of our favorite places to stay in Naxos. Hands down.
We often call it the most underrated beach in Naxos, as it’s the longest beach on the island, close to but somehow still feels like a hidden gem. The sand is soft, the water is crystal clear, and there’s just enough development that you can grab lunch or rent a sunbed, but still hear the ocean.
We weren’t sure what to expect the first time we visited, since it was hard to find honest details online.
But after spending over a month in Naxos and repeatedly visiting Plaka Beach, we’ve pulled together this list of the best villas, resorts, and boutique hotels in Plaka Beach (taking into account the area, amenities, what we’ve experienced, and what we’ve heard first-hand about these villas).
So, you can skip the guesswork and know you’re working with honest information on the details that actually make a difference in your stay before booking!
Whether you’re traveling as a couple, coming with kids, or planning a honeymoon, these are the villas we would personally stay in on Plaka Beach!
Best Villas + Hotels in Plaka
Plaka Beach is nearly 5 kilometers long, and where you stay along that stretch makes a big difference. The north end of the beach, closer to Agia Anna and Maragkas, is the most developed. You’ll find beach bars, rows of sun loungers, and a cluster of tavernas here. It’s a great choice if you want to be able to walk to dinner, rent a chair for the day, or hop on the bus to Naxos Town without needing a car.
As you move south toward the middle of Plaka Beach, things start to quiet down. The dirt road gets a lot bumpier, restaurants get fewer and farther between, and the shoreline feels more natural and secluded. This is the side to stay on if your idea of a dream vacation includes an empty beach, reading under your own umbrella, or swimming without crowds (It’s also where you’ll find some of the most scenic villas).
Then, on the far south side of the beach (near Mikri Vigla), you’ll find basic facilities, watersports, a food truck, and a couple of beach clubs offering food, drinks, and sun loungers.
1. Aegean Palace
Ratings: 8.6/10 ⭐ (484 reviews)

If you’re dreaming of a beachfront hotel with resort vibes, Aegean Palace is one of the most flexible and well-rounded options on Plaka Beach.
We were genuinely surprised by the variety of room types here. Budget-conscious travelers can book a standard room, while those wanting a more luxurious experience can upgrade to one of the premium suites.
The Grand Suite and Signature Suite stand out as the most upscale, offering private pools, spacious terraces, and scenic views of gardens or mountains. The Grand Suite has TWO bedrooms and a full kitchen, so it’s perfect for longer stays or families requiring a bit more space to spread out.
This is always our top recommendation for families with small kids. The suites are spacious enough for families, there’s a mini water park, two pools, cribs upon request, and the beach is just steps away. They even offer a free airport shuttle to simplify your arrival.
And if you’re planning to stay put, you won’t be bored. There’s a spa, small fitness area, and a restaurant onsite, with several others within walking distance.
2. Glaronissi Beach
9.4/10 ⭐ – 235 reviews (see more)
Glaronissi Beach is a cozy beachfront property at the northern end of Plaka, just a short walk from laid-back beach bars like Nomad Beach Bar, Yazoo Summer Bliss, and 3 Brothers.
The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you don’t plan to rent a car. There’s a bus stop just 100 meters from the front entrance, and sunbeds are set up right outside the rooms.
The accommodations are straightforward but comfortable, with your choice of either a garden or sea view.
Otherwise, the rooms are pretty basic. What really impressed us, though, was the breakfast, which is always homemade using ingredients from the hotel’s organic farm. It’s a small perk, but it really elevates the experience.
This isn’t a luxury resort, but it’s clean, well-maintained, and ideally situated for enjoying Plaka Beach without feeling isolated.
3. Archon Seaside Retreat
9.8/10 ⭐ – 237 reviews (see more)
Archon Seaside Retreat is a modern, peaceful hideaway at the southern end of Plaka Beach, right at the edge of Orkos Beach and Mikri Vigla. If you’re after calm and quiet, this part of the coastline is ideal. It’s less developed than the north, so we definitely recommend having a rental car to get around.
The rooms are bright and stylish, each with a private outdoor area. Many offer views of the sea.
There’s a small pool onsite and loungers set up right on the beach in front of the property. It feels quiet and relaxed in the best possible way.
For those looking to slow down and soak up the serenity of Plaka Beach, this is one of the best villas in the area to do just that.
Note: there’s no restaurant at the property, and breakfast isn’t included. If you don’t plan on cooking, it’s worth picking up a few groceries or baked goods for the morning and planning to dine out for your meals.
4. Naxian On the Beach
Ratings: 8.6/10 ⭐ (74 reviews)

Naxian On the Beach is one of the rare spots on Naxos where your room opens right onto the sand. This adults-only boutique stay sits directly on Plaka Beach and has a laid-back, boho vibe that makes it easy to unplug and unwind.
Every suite faces the sea and has its own private balcony. Some feature outdoor jet tubs, but even the standard options are elevated with soft linens, espresso machines, and rain showers that feel both cozy and upscale.
Breakfast is included and served right onsite, and the hotel’s own Tortuga Beach Bar is a true standout.
The food is consistently excellent, especially for seafood lovers. In the evenings, the vibe shifts slightly as they start mixing cocktails, and it begins to feel more like a secluded beachfront hangout than a typical hotel restaurant. The staff here are friendly and attentive, but they give you space to relax.
For couples looking to wake up to the sound of the sea, this is easily one of the most romantic places to stay on Plaka Beach.
5. Medusa Beach Resort & Suites
Ratings: 8.1/10 ⭐ (121 reviews)

Medusa Beach Resort is one of the few properties on Plaka Beach where you can step directly from your room onto the sand. It’s tucked away on the quieter southern end of the beach, near Archon Seaside Retreat, but has more of a traditional resort atmosphere.
The grounds are spacious, with a large garden, a pool, two restaurants (including one right by the water), and a full-service beach bar.
It’s an excellent option for travelers who want a peaceful beachfront villa without feeling too far from town.
The one trade-off is location. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the port or Naxos Town.
But with a rental car, it’s an easy trip, and the resort offers free onsite parking.
If you’re traveling with a group or as a family, the two-story villas here provide more room than you’ll find at places like Naxian On the Beach, thanks to the oversized bathrooms, walk-in showers, and full kitchens.
Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for something beachfront, but still want easy access to amenities.
6. Sundunes Hotel Naxos
Ratings: 9.7/10 ⭐ (248 reviews)

Sundunes Hotel is a standout beachfront stay on the northern end of Plaka Beach. It’s one of the newer additions to the area, and that freshness really shows.
Rooms are bright and minimalist, with whitewashed walls, earthy tones, and lots of natural light. Many have sea views, and a few even come with private pools.
If that’s outside your budget, the Deluxe Sea View Suite is a much more affordable option and a great choice for couples.
We’re big fans of the location. Unlike the more remote southern end of Naxos, Sundunes gives you a peaceful setting with easy access to spots like 3 Brothers and Nikos & Maria, both within walking distance.
Breakfast is included and done really well. There’s no restaurant at the resort for lunch or dinner, but that’s not an issue since everything you need is close by. There’s also a gym and a beautiful infinity pool for relaxing at the property.
7. Villa Paradise
Ratings: 9.2/10 ⭐ (85 reviews)

If you’re traveling as a group or looking for a luxurious beachfront escape with a more private, residential feel, Villa Paradise in Naxos is perfect!
Set on a cliff overlooking Orkos Bay at the southern end of Plaka Beach, this collection of stylish villas offers sweeping sea views, private pools, and plenty of room to spread out. The smallest villas sleep six, while the largest accommodate up to 14 guests, making it ideal for families/group trips.
We love that every villa comes with a fully equipped kitchen, a private terrace, and a pool with a stunning view. The decor is modern yet charming, and each space feels thoughtfully designed rather than overly “hotel-y.”
Breakfast is available daily, and while there’s no full restaurant onsite, NYMΦS Epicurean Garden is right at your doorstep, and the villas are only a few minutes from Mikri Vigla’s tavernas.
8. Naxos Island Escape Suites
9.4/10 ⭐ – 44 Reviews

It’s tough to snag a few nights at Naxos Island Escape Suites, but if it’s available for your dates, go ahead and book it!
The suites are located less than 100 meters from the beach, and all rooms feature traditional Greek architecture, creating a genuinely unique and authentic stay experience.
We love it when a hotel doesn’t just feel like every other basic villa.
Breakfast is included in the rate, and every room comes with a minibar, air conditioning, and a private bathroom. Some even have their own private jacuzzi tub!
9. Depis Edem Luxury Villas
9.0/10 ⭐ – 74 Reviews

Depis Edem is another proper vacation home setup, and it’s where we’d stay if we were coming to Plaka with friends or family.
They offer several 3- and 4-bedroom houses, each equipped with a full kitchen and ample living space. While it’s not directly on the beach, it’s just a short walk away, and there’s free parking if you’re renting a car or scooter.
The pool is shared, but it’s big enough that it doesn’t feel crowded. And even though the villas feel like private homes, breakfast is included each morning, made with fresh ingredients from their local garden.
Other Beach Towns Near Plaka
Maragkas Beach
Maragkas sits just north of Plaka and blends seamlessly into it, located somewhere around Plaka Water Sports.
It offers a similar beach vibe, but with more beach bars, restaurants, and sunbeds for rent. Most of the popular beach bars and restaurants (like Nomad Beach Bar and Yazoo) are on Maragkas Beach as well.
It’s a great alternative if you want to be close to Plaka but with a bit more happening in the evenings.
Our Pick: Glaronissi Beach
Agia Anna
Agia Anna is just a 5-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk) north of Plaka. We absolutely love this charming beach town with golden sand, calm water year-round, and a small marina. The vibe here is relaxed and family-friendly, with a nice mix of tavernas, bakeries, and boutique hotels lining the beachfront.
Our Pick: Iria Beach Art Hotel
Mikri Vigla
Located just south of Plaka, Mikri Vigla is split into two beaches. One is calm and great for swimming, while the other is windier and ideal for kitesurfing.
The area has a raw, untouched beauty, and it’s way less touristy than other parts of the island. It’s quieter than Plaka and more exposed to the wind, but the views are gorgeous and it’s perfect for travelers who want a laid-back beach base.
The majority of people you’ll see here are experienced windsurfers and kitesurfers, beginners looking to take a lesson, or people who just enjoy watching the thrill-seekers in action.
Our Pick: Orkos Beach Hotel
Kastraki Beach
Even further south from Plaka (approximately 10-15 minutes by car) is Kastraki Beach, which appears to be a continuation of the south side of Mikri Vigla.
More than anywhere else on the island, this beach feels like a true escape. There is literally nothing here except for a couple of small tavernas and some of the best value luxurious villas (we found some with private hot tubs AND pools for like €100/night).
This stretch of coastline is much more rural, with long, quiet beaches and very little commercial development. It’s ideal if you’re looking to escape the grid and simply enjoy the sea, sunsets, and open sky.
Our Pick: Eden Beachfront Residences
