Looking for a peaceful, beachfront town to use as a base in Naxos?

If Agios Prokopios Beach feels a bit too busy, and Plaka Beach seems too far from the Port, the beachfront villas, studios, or hotels in Agia Anna might be exactly what you’re after.

Just 10 minutes down the coast from Chora, this small beach town boasts the golden sand and calm, turquoise water from the postcards. But with fewer crowds, lower prices, and a more relaxed atmosphere.

We’ve visited Agia Anna several times, and the last time we were in town, we spent a few nights right in the center of town at Agia Anna Living!

However, there were several other hotels and villas in Agia Anna that we almost chose, and still recommend to our friends, family, and our FB Group members! Some are ideal for families, others for couples, and a few just have unbeatable value for the price.

Here are the best places to stay in Agia Anna, from luxurious resort-style villas to affordable boutiques.

We’ll provide you with the honest pros and cons, tips on breakfast, pool and beach access, and the details that are actually important to know before booking.

1. Agia Anna Living

Agia Anna Living was exactly what we were looking for on our last trip to Naxos — something that felt upscale, but still reasonably priced.

We usually stay a week or more, so having a bit of space is important to us. The villa was huge. You could easily fit a family of four, but as a couple, we just enjoyed having room to spread out. There’s a separate living area, two TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the lounge), and a kitchenette that’s actually stocked with all the basics.

One small thing we liked was the layout: the shower, toilet, and sink are all in different spaces, which just made everything easier.

Although we had a kitchenette, we barely used it, as breakfast is included at Santana Beach Club each morning. It’s a full buffet (for free), featuring eggs prepared in multiple ways, spanakopita, fresh fruit, yogurt with honey, pastries, and more, all served right on the beach.

Most villas also come with their own heated plunge pool. The only downside was that the jets only run at certain times of day because of the noise, but we didn’t mind too much.

It’s a short walk to Agia Anna Beach, and just a few minutes by car (or 15ish on foot) to Agios Prokopios or Maragkas Beach.

It’s not the flashiest place on the list, but we really liked it and would definitely stay again.

2. Manios Suites

A chic, modern hotel room with a king-sized bed draped in deep blue bedding. Floor-to-ceiling windows open to a private balcony with an uninterrupted ocean view. A wooden pendant light hangs above the bed, adding warmth to the minimalistic decor.

Manios Suites is a small, beachfront boutique hotel in Agia Anna, literally just a few steps from the water. They also have almost exclusively sea-view rooms (but we’d highly recommend requesting the upper level because the view of the Agia Anna Port is just better from here).

All rooms include breakfast, which you can enjoy on the terrace or in the hotel’s restaurant, which also serves casual Greek cuisine throughout the day.

What makes this spot stand out is the setting. Manios Suites is on the north side of Agia Anna, slightly outside of town. You might not think much of this if you’ve never been to Agia Anna, but it makes a huge difference!

This section of Agia Anna is significantly less crowded and a much more convenient walk to Agios Prokopios.

3. Cycladic Islands Hotel & Spa

Agia Anna is like the laid-back little sister to Agios Prokopios. It’s a small fishing village only 10 minutes away, offering the same soft sand and crystal-clear water, but it feels a little quieter, with just a few beachfront tavernas and boutique hotels.

One of the best places to stay nearby is Cycladic Islands Hotel & Spa. It’s set just slightly up the hill, so you get a nice look at the beach and the town below, as well as Paros across the water.

All of their rooms have light, airy accents, private balconies, and a daily breakfast included. The hotel also has a peaceful outdoor pool (with a shallow section for kids), a hammam-style sauna, and a full-service spa.

If we’re not staying in Chora, this is one of our go-tos. You can walk to three beaches from here (Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, and Maragkas Beach), and it’s just far enough out of the center to feel peaceful without being remote.

4. Anemomilos Villas

Anemomilos in Agia Anna is another one of the best places to stay on a budget. The villa isn’t right on the water, but it’s VERY close (about a 2-minute walk), and it’s arguably the best value for your money in Agia Anna.

It’s also an easy walk to quite a few of Naxos’ top restaurants, a bakery, the bus stop, and Agios Prokopios Town/Beach.

The rooms are simple yet aesthetically pleasing, and many have a terrace or balcony overlooking the pool area. Some units come with kitchenettes, making them a handy base for families or those staying for longer periods.

When we drove past, we thought the place had a quiet charm. Everything feels clean and well cared for.

Katerina, the hotel manager, is also incredible. She’s mentioned in literally every review we read on the hotel, making it clear she’s the heart of the place.

For a low-key stay that’s affordable (without sacrificing location), Anemomilos is the best spot in Agia Anna.

5. Iria Beach Art Hotel

Iria Beach Art Hotel is one of the few stays in Agia Anna that’s actually right on the beach, so if you’re looking for a cozy boutique with a lot of character and direct beach access, this is the spot to choose.

We didn’t stay here, but walked past every time we spent time relaxing on Agia Anna Beach and were always struck by how peaceful and well-kept it felt, despite being in a busy area. The rooms are tucked behind whitewashed balconies with views of the sea or garden, and the whole setup has a beautiful vibe.

You also get breakfast included (served out front or on the shaded patio). Then, there’s an on-site restaurant (Palatia) along with a few others next door (Ostria / Sto Kýma), and a great coffee shop around the corner (Goat in a Boat) that makes things easy if you don’t feel like leaving town for a day or two!

There’s no pool at Iria Beach Art Hotel, but you really don’t need one when the sea is right there.

6. Castello Studios

Castello Studios is right on the beach in Agia Anna, and it’s one of the more affordable beachfront hotels in Agia Anna if Iria Beach Art Hotel feels a bit out of budget.

Try to request one of the renovated upper-floor suites, which have front-row views of the sea from the private balcony. The location is pretty unbeatable, and they offer the guests special discounts at some of the surrounding tavernas if you want to eat more than just a pastry for breakfast!

We often sat on the sun loungers in front of our room and had a buffet breakfast at Santana Beach Club each morning. Having all of that right outside our room would have been incredible!

Quick Note: Castello shares beachfront with Santana Beach Club next door, which means the entire shore is filled with sun loungers, and you will hear music playing from the beach club throughout most of the day (and some nights). This may not be the best option for individuals with young children or those seeking quiet afternoons.

More Areas to Stay Near Agia Anna

If you’re still having second thoughts about staying in Agia Anna, there are a few great nearby areas that offer a slightly different feel and are still just a 5-minute drive from Agia Anna Beach.

Agios Prokopios is just up the coast (you can actually walk there). This area is actually even busier than Agia Anna, making it a more popular choice for travelers who want everything within reach: a wide sandy beach, numerous beach cafes, and a relaxed, resort-like environment.

Our Favorite Hotel in Agios Prokopios: Liana Beach Hotel

Stelida is what locals call the area up on the hill just behind Agios Prokopios. This hillside offers a more secluded feel with incredible views of the ocean from just about every hotel in the area. It’s sort of considered the ‘honeymoon area’ of Naxos, simply because of the peace and quiet without being far from the beach.

Our Favorite Hotel in Stelida: Mythology Villas & Suites

Maragkas Beach is the town you run into if you walk south from Agia Anna (Paradiso Taverna is the unofficial marker between the two beaches), and then eventually Maragkas turns into Plaka Beach after about 2 kilometers. This area can actually be a bit more expensive than Agia Anna, but the shore is less built-up and it feels a bit more spacious and quiet.
