A bohemian-style hotel balcony with a built-in jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. A small table with rattan chairs is set under a wooden pergola, providing a perfect spot to soak in the sea breeze. The natural tones of the decor blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

13 Best Beachfront Hotels in Naxos

If there’s one thing that makes a beach trip feel like a real vacation, it’s waking up with the shore just steps from your door.

Naxos is much more of a beach destination than Paros, so every time we travel here, we try to secure a hotel on the beach for at least part of our trip!

It’s not always possible with last-minute bookings or when we’re on a tighter budget. But when it works out, it completely changes our trip! No walking 10 minutes to get to the water, no dealing with crowded parking. Just easy access to the sunbeds and seaside cafés after a morning swim!

So, after researching (and visiting) dozens of beachfront hotels across Naxos, these are the ones that consistently offer the best combo of location, comfort, service, and value.

They’re truly on the beach — not just “a short walk” — and will make your trip to Naxos unforgettable!

Luxury Beachfront Hotels

If you’re looking to splurge a little, whether for a honeymoon, special occasion, or just because you’ve saved up enough money to treat yourself, these are the top luxury beachfront hotels in Naxos. Each of these hotels offer direct access to the island’s best beaches, 5-star rooms, and amenities.

Medusa Beach Resort & Suites – Plaka Beach

8.8/10 ⭐ – 97 reviews (see more)

A rustic, Mediterranean-style balcony with a wooden pergola offering shade. A small white dining table with two cushioned chairs is set with a bottle of wine and glasses. White-washed architecture and lush palm trees enhance the island ambiance.

If you want a truly luxurious beachfront stay, Medusa Beach Resort & Suites is a gorgeous resort that sits right on the peaceful end of Plaka Beach (which is our favorite beach on Naxos).

It’s exactly what you think of when you picture a beachfront hotel in Greece.

The resort blends into its surroundings with natural tones, wooden pergolas, and whitewashed exteriors, and you can roll out of bed and be lying in one of their beachfront sun loungers in seconds. Rooms are spread across several buildings, and if you’re traveling as a couple, it’s worth upgrading to one of the suites with a sea view or direct beach access.

Ultimately, the balance is what makes this place unique – you’re just far enough from the main beach road to enjoy a peaceful escape, yet still close enough to grab lunch at a nearby taverna. If you don’t feel like going out, there’s also an on-site restaurant/bar.

Liana Beach Hotel & Spa – Agios Prokopios

8.4/10 ⭐ – 309 reviews (see more)

A breathtaking beachfront hotel room with an open terrace facing the sea. The bed has soft blue linens that complement the ocean view. A small patio set with two drinks invites guests to relax while enjoying the golden-hour sunset over the water.

Liana Beach Hotel & Spa is a beachfront hotel right across the road from Agios Prokopios Beach. There are no long walks or crowded paths to get to the water.

Although it’s one of the most popular and swimmable beaches on Naxos, most of the shoreline is undeveloped, so there are very limited beachfront resorts here.

Liana Beach Hotel is very fancy. Most of the rooms have sea-facing balconies, and a few upgraded suites even include a private outdoor hot tub.

You’ll be just steps from the beach (which is hard to find on Agios Prokopios), but still within walking distance of some of the best tavernas and cafés in town. The hotel also has an on-site spa for massages and facials if you want to relax after a day in the sun.

It’s a solid option if you’re looking for a luxury resort with beachfront access and easy walkability to town.

Aegean Palace – Plaka Beach

8.6/10 ⭐ – 484 reviews (see more)

A stylish hotel suite with natural wood accents, beige and earthy tones, and a cozy seating area. A bed with decorative pillows is separated by wooden slats, and a round coffee table with fresh fruit sits on a geometric-patterned rug. Sunlight streams through floor-to-ceiling curtains, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.

Aegean Palace is another beachfront resort right on Plaka Beach.

Although we would categorize it as a hotel rather than a resort, it has a resort vibe, with a large pool, wellness center, and on-site restaurant.

Some of the suites even have private pools. However, the basic junior suites are also spacious and comfortable enough to feel like a memorable stay.

So, this is an excellent choice if you want a slightly cheaper luxury resort in a peaceful part of Naoxs.

Finikas Hotel – Alyko Beach

8.8/10 ⭐ – 343 reviews (see more)

A luxurious bedroom with an arched ceiling, featuring delicate star-like lights and a wall sculpture of fish. A breakfast tray with fresh fruits, pastries, and juice sits at the foot of the bed. The soft, neutral color palette creates a peaceful and elegant ambiance.

Finikas Hotel is a beachfront stay tucked between Alyko and Pyrgaki — two of the most remote beaches on Naxos.

It feels more like a private escape than a hotel. There’s a pool surrounded by palm trees, a lush garden area, a full-service restaurant overlooking the water, a pool bar, and a sauna/hammam on-site.

Rooms range from standard doubles to larger suites, and they’re all really nice, but the real draw is the secluded setting. Finikas Hotel is where to come for a holiday far away from the tourist crowds.

Glaronissi Beach – Plaka Beach

9.4/10 ⭐ – 265 reviews (see more)

A charming beachfront bungalow with a white stucco exterior, wooden accents, and a private patio. Two sun loungers face a lush garden with tall grasses and tropical plants. Large sliding doors lead inside, where a cozy interior awaits.

Glaronissi Beach is a simple, beachfront hotel on the busier side of Plaka Beach. So you get easy access to the best beach cafés and restaurants like Nomad Beach Bar, 3 Brothers, and Yazoo Summer Bliss (live music on weekends).

There are also tons of sunbeds for rent right out front, and the bus stop is less than 100 meters away, which makes it easy to get around the island if you’re not renting a car.

The rooms are basic but very comfortable, and you can choose between views of the garden or the sea from your balcony. Another of the best parts about staying here is the homemade breakfast made with organic ingredients from the hotel’s farm.

Naxian On the Beach – Plaka Beach

8.6/10 ⭐ – 68 reviews (see more)

A bohemian-style hotel balcony with a built-in jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. A small table with rattan chairs is set under a wooden pergola, providing a perfect spot to soak in the sea breeze. The natural tones of the decor blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

For a boutique beachfront stay with a laid-back, boho feel, Naxian On the Beach is hard to beat.

Sitting on Plaka Beach, this small hotel is one of the few spots in Naxos where you can step straight from your room onto the sand. Each suite has a private balcony or terrace, and most of them come with outdoor jacuzzis and full sea views.

Naxian on the Beach is also one of the few adults-only beachfront resorts in Naxos, which is why so many people choose to stay here for their honeymoon or another romantic trip with their partner.

Beachfront Boutique Villas

It’s not always easy to find boutique-style villas on the beach in Naxos — especially ones with all the amenities you’d expect from a boutique hotel.

But a few hidden gems offer great value for the price and a front-row seat to the Aegean.

Nissaki Beach Hotel – Agios Georgios Beach

9.3/10 ⭐ – 301 reviews (see more)

A lavish hotel suite with a canopy bed draped in sheer white fabric, complemented by soft orange accents. A spacious sitting area with a plush sofa and coffee table opens to a private balcony with a sea view. The wooden ceiling and warm lighting create a cozy yet sophisticated retreat.

Nissaki Beach Hotel is one of the few hotels near Naxos Town that’s literally on the beach.

It’s an adults-only hotel on the north side of Agios Georgios. Admittedly, it’s not the nicest beach in Naxos, but it’s still a great place to take a morning dip and the closest beach to town, just five minutes from Naxos Chora.

It’s actually our favorite area to stay in Naxos.

The rooms lean toward an understated luxury, with natural wood accents, soft lighting, and private balconies or terraces. There’s also a great enclosed pool area surrounded by palm trees and a restaurant right on the seafront that’s well-known for its seafood and Mediterranean dishes.

Melidron Hotel & Suites – Agios Prokopios

9.4/10 ⭐ – 334 reviews (see more)

A dreamy poolside view at dusk, featuring a luxurious hotel with white Cycladic architecture. The large swimming pool is surrounded by sun loungers, umbrellas, and a chic outdoor bar. Warm lighting highlights the elegant, relaxing atmosphere.

Melidron Hotel & Suites is a boutique adults-only hotel just a short walk from Agios Prokopios Beach. It’s close enough to the sand to walk down for a swim in under two minutes, but still far enough back to feel quiet and relaxed.

Rooms are well-designed, and all have their own private balcony. The larger suites are particularly great for couples or groups traveling together. There’s a huge pool area, a small gym on-site, and you’re within walking distance to shops and restaurants, so you won’t need a car to get around the area.

It’s a solid option if you want something calm and comfortable just off the beachfront.

Manios Suites – Agia Anna

9.0/10 ⭐ – 193 reviews (see more)

A chic, modern hotel room with a king-sized bed draped in deep blue bedding. Floor-to-ceiling windows open to a private balcony with an uninterrupted ocean view. A wooden pendant light hangs above the bed, adding warmth to the minimalistic decor.

Manios Suites is a small boutique hotel on the beach in Agia Anna. You’re literally just a few feet from the water, and that’s very clear if you book a sea view room (Note: the upper-level rooms have an even better view!)

Like most places on this list, the hotel has an on-site restaurant serving Greek food throughout the day, and a generous breakfast is included with your room each morning.

The location is one of the biggest draws here, though. Agia Anna has a long stretch of soft sand and calm, shallow water that’s great for swimming.

Plus, there’s a solid lineup of beachfront tavernas if you want to eat somewhere nearby.

Affordable Beachfront Hotels

One significant part about Naxos is that you can actually find affordable beachfront resorts that don’t feel ‘cheap’. These do book up relatively quickly, but if you can secure a room, it’s a great way to feel like you’re having a luxurious holiday without spending a fortune!

Alkyoni Beach Hotel – Agios Georgios

8.8/10 ⭐ – 322 reviews (see more)

A serene outdoor pool with crystal-clear water reflecting the blue sky, surrounded by white Cycladic-style buildings with green shutters. Sun loungers with umbrellas and lush greenery add to the Mediterranean charm.

Alkyoni Beach Hotel is another excellent place on Agios Georgios Beach.

It’s on the side opposite of Naxos Chora, which means you’ll have a slightly farther walk into town, but it’s still less than 15 minutes, and this side of the beach provides a more peaceful feel and better swimming/snorkeling.

The rooms are nice here (if they’re available, book one of the junior suites or the superior Queen room), but the real draw is the hotel grounds, where you have a massive pool with tons of space and beautiful gardens leading all the way to the shoreline.

Archon Seaside Retreat – Plaka Beach

9.8/10 ⭐ – 233 reviews (see more)

A stunning balcony view overlooking a serene pool area and the deep blue sea. A wooden table with a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a bowl of fresh fruit sits under a shaded pergola. Lounge chairs and umbrellas surround the pool, creating a luxurious Mediterranean retreat.

Archon Seaside Retreat is a small, modern hotel right on the quiet end of Plaka Beach (near Orkos and Miki Vigla). This section of the 4 km beach is peaceful, scenic, and perfect if your main goal is to relax, and you don’t mind being a short drive from Chora and the busier beach towns in Naxos.

One of the major perks is that all the units come with private outdoor spaces—most even have sea views—and the furniture is simple but elegant.

There’s also a pool on-site and loungers to use right out front on the beach, but breakfast is not included in the room rate because there’s no restaurant on-site.

Akti Kastraki Beach – Kastraki Beach

9.0/10 ⭐ – 2 reviews (see more)

A cozy, minimalist bedroom with a white-washed arched headboard, built-in shelves, and a soft-lit ambiance. A straw hat rests on the neatly made bed with decorative pillows. A sliding glass door leads to a private balcony, allowing natural light to flood the space.

Akti Kastraki Beach is a quiet beachfront stay on one of the most low-key beaches in Naxos – Kastraki Beach. It’s known for soft sand and almost no crowds — even in summer.

The reason it’s so cheap is because of the location, but that might be just what you’re looking for, and the chance to stay right on the beach for as low as $50/night is pretty tempting!

The rooms are bright and straightforward, with private balconies or patios that let in a lot of natural light, and there’s an on-site restaurant and beach bar, so you won’t have to go into town every time you want to get a meal.

However, we still encourage you to book a rental car if you’re staying here, as it can be challenging to get a taxi on demand.

Dolphin Kastraki Studios – Glifada

9.1/10 ⭐ – 234 reviews (see more)

A bright and airy hotel room with Cycladic design, featuring a built-in bed with blue accents and a raised seating area with plaid pillows. Bamboo poles add a natural element to the partition wall. Sunlight pours in through sheer curtains, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere.

Dolphin Kastraki Studio is just a short walk down the shoreline from Kastraki on Glifada Beach. The rooms are stunning for the price, and it’s within walking distance of one of our favorite beaches in Naxos –Alyko/Hawaii Beach.

The studios are built in the traditional Cycladic style, as shown in the photo above. They have rooms to sleep 2-6 people, making this a great choice for groups of friends or families. There is a pool on-site with a separate kids’ section.

Similar to the other budget beachfront hotels, this is a place to unplug and enjoy the slower pace of the island’s south coast, since you will be about 25 minutes from Naxos Town..

Tips for Traveling in Naxos

Once you find a place to stay, here are a couple of other quick travel tips to help you plan your trip to Naxos.

Airport Transportation

The Naxos Airport is just a 5–10 minute drive from most southwest beach towns, like Agios Georgios, Agios Prokopios, and Agia Anna. However, the airport is small and taxis can be limited, especially in peak season.

So, if you know you’ll be taking a taxi to your hotel (as opposed to renting a car at the airport), it’s worth arranging an airport transfer in advance.

Looking for a reliable company and competitive prices? We’d recommend using Welcome Pickups.

Renting a Car

We rent a car no matter where we stay in Naxos, but it’s even more advantageous if you’re staying on one of the more remote beaches (Plaka Beach, Kastraki Beach, Alyko Beach), where taxi stands are less accessible.

It also makes it much easier to go to the mountain villages of Apeiranthos, Chalki, or the Temple of Demeter.

Parking is easy outside of Naxos Town, and the roads are straightforward.

It’s also much more flexible than other options and relatively affordable. We can typically find a small car for just €20-30/day.

If you’re staying in the southwest (from Naxos Town down to Plaka Beach), a scooter might be all you need. It’s cheaper than a car, easier to park, and makes hopping between beaches much more fun. Just make sure you bring your international driver’s permit if you’re not from the EU.

Our Favorite things to do in Naxos

The beaches are probably our favorite part of Naxos, but there’s so much more than just the beach.

Some of our favorite things include hiking to Mount Zas, heading out to the Portara for sunset, and exploring the hilltop villages inland. If you’re unsure where to start, here’s a brief list of our favorites!

  • Visit the Temple of Apollo (Portara)
  • Wander Through Chalki Village
  • Swim at Alyko Beach + Explore the Abandoned Hotel Murals
  • Hike Mount Zas (the highest point in the Cyclades)
  • Grab Dinner in the Kastro District of Naxos Town
  • Visit a rooftop café or shop in the old Venetian quarter.

Closing Thoughts

Naxos has some of the best beachfront hotels in the Cyclades, and compared to other islands, it’s still possible to find places that are right on the sand — not just “near the beach.”

Whether you’re looking to stay close to town in Agios Georgios/Agios Prokopios or you want to find something that feels a little more remote in Plaka or Kastraki, there are quite a few options in Naxos.

If you want luxury and privacy, Medusa Beach Resort or Naxian On the Beach are excellent choices.

And for a more affordable hotel on the beach, Glaronissi Beach or Manios Suites deliver great value in great locations. And if you’re on a budget, there are still a few true beachfront stays that won’t break the bank, either.
