Who’s Behind Explore Naxos & Paros
Hi! We’re so glad you’re here!
We are Caleb and Sarah Pasiuk, the creators and travel enthusiasts of Explore Naxos & Paros. We both caught the travel bug early on in life, and since joining paths, we’ve spent 8 years slow traveling around the world together, from South Korea to Thailand, Sri Lanka, England, Costa Rica, and Portugal…
We’d typically stay in each place for between 2 months to 2 years. Eventually, in 2022, that journey led us to Greece, where we fell in love with the islands of Naxos and Paros.
Today, we still love returning to the islands and plan return trips as much as possible. It’s arguably our favorite place in Europe!
What Can You Expect From Us?
We strive to be the definitive resource for traveling to the neighboring islands of Naxos and Paros. We absolutely love both of these islands and have traveled extensively on each one, searching for the best beaches, cozy villages, historical landmarks, interesting facts, boutique hotels, and (of course) places to eat!
Everything in this blog is filtered through our personal experience, so you can be sure that you’re getting the most relevant, practical, and accurate information while planning your trip. We also talk A LOT about transportation because it tends to be a very common stress point, including;
- Finding the best car rental prices
- Getting to/from the airport
- Taking ferries in between the islands
- Figuring out how to navigate the bus system
Ultimately, our goal is to help you make simple decisions – like which island to visit first – and encourage you to travel deeper to discover what makes Naxos and Paros special.
Explore Naxos & Paros
Paros is one of the most picturesque islands among all of the Greek Cyclades. It’s often overshadowed by more popular islands like Mykonos but actually has a lot of the same draw and even better beaches!
We also love spending time in Paros because of its crystal-clear waters, traditional villages, and cute villas all along the coast. The island’s capital, Parikia, has cozy cafes, narrow cobblestone streets, and a beautiful waterfront.
But our FAVORITE city in Paros is the cosmopolitan village of Naoussa! Outside of the cities, we love driving up into the hills of Lefkes, seeing the ancient marble quarries, and visiting lesser-know beaches, such as Kalogeros Beach and Golden Beach.
Naxos is actually the largest island in the Cyclades and just a short ferry from Paros (you can even take a day trip between the islands).
However, it’s much more rugged and has more secluded areas of the coastline, so many people prefer to spend their holiday here!
We usually stay in Naxos Town, which is known for the iconic Portara, which is unbelievable at sunset, and great coffee shops. Then all along the west coast are amazing beaches, like Agios Prokopios, Maragkas, Plaka Beach, and Alyko Beach!
Then, as we traveled further inland, we found that there were some super interesting historical sites, stunning mountains surrounding Mount Zas, and fun villages like Chalki and Koronos.
