If you’re wondering how easy it is to get from Parikia (Seaport or Paros) to Naoussa, we can help!

We actually prefer to base ourselves in Parikia when spending time in Paros. It’s the main ferry port for the island, and the airport is only 5-10 minutes away, so for us, it feels very central.

But Naoussa is the most popular tourist area on the island, so you’ll definitely want to know how to get there, whether you’re staying in Parikia like us or need to get to your hotel in Naoussa after taking a ferry to Paros!

There are technically four ways to make the journey: You can hire a taxi, take a public bus, rent a car, or rent an alternative vehicle (scooter/ATV).

We personally recommend renting a car to get around the island. But, depending on your travel budget and the size of your group, another option may work better for you!

How far is it from Parikia to Naoussa?

The distance from Parikia to Naoussa is about 10.1 kilometers (6.2 miles). The drive takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic, and the roads are very easy to navigate.

1. Book a Taxi from Parikia to Naoussa

The quickest and most convenient way to get from Parikia to Naoussa is by private taxi. This allows you to leave whenever you want and have door-to-door service, whether you are going to your hotel, a restaurant, or Kolymbithres Beach.

Taxis in Paros are usually gray or black vehicles with a yellow taxi sign on the roof, similar to most countries around the world.

The trip usually takes about 15 minutes, but traffic conditions can cause it to vary slightly. Traffic isn’t much of a problem in Paros, but it can pick up and cause slight delays in the summer (June-August).

How much is a taxi from Parikia to Naoussa?

A taxi from Parikia to Naoussa will cost about $40. This price is based on the number of passengers, luggage space needed, and the time of day you will request a pickup.

Taking the bus from Parikia to Naoussa is a great option for travelers who are looking for an affordable yet reliable way to get around the island.

There are about 10 buses per day, running about every hour, and the bus route between Parikia (Paros Port) and Naoussa takes about 25 minutes.

How Much is the Naoussa-Parikia Bus?

The Naoussa-Parikia Bus costs €1.80 each way. Tickets can be bought at the bus stop right outside of the Paros Sea Port.

How long is the bus ride from Naoussa to Parikia?

The bus from Naoussa to Parikia takes about 25 minutes, compared to 15 minutes in a taxi, so it is very easy and affordable to take the bus in Paros.

Renting a car in Paros is our favorite way to travel the island, especially if you are staying for a couple of days.

It is usually cheaper than taking taxis and gives you more freedom to explore the island at your own pace. Renting a car for 10 days is typically less than $200, which is the same price as four or five taxis in Paros.

We personally have been scammed while renting a car, so these days, we always use a third party like Discover Cars to see the ratings for each provider and find the best prices. Discover Cars is a legit third-party agency, and they even provide full coverage insurance for like $7/day.

Do you need a car in Naoussa?

No, you don’t need a car in Naoussa. Everything is within walking distance, and there are plenty of taxis available to take you to other parts of the island. But if you will be traveling outside of Naoussa more than once, it can be cheaper to rent a car than to pay for multiple taxis!

Is it easy to get around Paros without a car?

Yes, you can get around Paros without a car. The Paros bus system is surprisingly comprehensive, with routes to almost every town, and taxis are readily available.

However, this forces you to choose between the affordability of buses or the convenience of a taxi, and with it being so easy to drive in Paros, we would never want to be without our own vehicle.

4. Renting a Scooter or ATV in Paros

If you’re up for an alternative means of getting from Parikia to Naoussa, renting a scooter or an ATV for a couple of days can be really fun.

They are one of the most reputable local companies, and they have so many options available. Here are the prices for each type of vehicle.

  • Scooters (13 models available) €15-20 per day
  • ATVs (6 models available) – €20-30 per day
  • UTVs (2 models available) – €40-80 per day

Certain restrictions apply to renting scooters, ATVs, and UTVs in Paros, so make sure to check the age limit and other requirements before booking your rental.

Best Ways to Return from Naoussa to Parikia (Paros SeaPort)

The same options can be used to make the return journey from Naoussa to Parikia (Paros SeaPort). Taking a taxi is the fastest and most convenient option, but it can be expensive. The bus is more affordable, and the bus takes the longest amount of time.

We rented our car at the Paros Airport, and there was no extra charge to drop it off at the seaport before taking the ferry to Naxos.

Taking a Taxi: Taxis are available at any time of day and offer door-to-door service from Naoussa to Parikia. If possible, book your driver the night before so that you aren’t scrambling to find a cab.

Taking the Bus: The bus journey back to Parikia from Naoussa takes 25 minutes and costs €1.80. You will need to catch the bus at the Naoussa Bus Stop.

More Common Routes in Paros

Most people staying in Paros choose to base themselves in either Parikia or Naoussa, but there are really cool, less touristy places to visit on this island outside of these towns. Here is how to get to our favorite places in Paros.

You should try to spend at least a few days in Paros, but if you have more time, you could also consider adding Naxos to your itinerary! It’s just a 30-minute ferry and there are lots of gorgeous beach towns on the island!

Parikia to Lefkes

Lefkes is a small mountain village in Paros, famous for its beautiful view, narrow cobblestone streets, and Agia Triada church. It’s just 10 kilometers from Parikia by car, but there are also a few buses each day, which take about 25-30 minutes and cost €1-2.

Parikia to Kolymbithres Beach

Kolymbithres Beach is actually right next to Naoussa, so to get here, you can follow the same route from Parikia to Naoussa, but ask the driver to let you off at Naoussa Hotel, which is just over a kilometer from Kolymbithres Beach.

Parikia to Santa Maria Beach

Santa Maria Beach is another popular beach in the far northeast corner of Paros. It’s 22 minutes by car (14 km). There is a bus from Parikia to Santa Maria, but it takes 40 minutes. You will need to transfer to Naoussa.

Parikia to Piso Livadi

Piso Livadi is the largest town on the east coast of Paros and a relaxing break from the larger towns of Parikia and Naoussa. Getting here by car takes 24 minutes, or you can take a 40-minute bus directly from Parikia to Piso Livadi.

Naoussa to Paros Airport

The journey from Paros Airport to Naoussa and back is probably one of the most common routes on the island. Most people spending a few days in Paros choose to base themselves here. It’s really easy to hire airport transfers in Paros, but you can also take the bus (1 hour with a transfer in Parikia).

Paros is such a beautiful island, and it’s absolutely worth visiting in Greece. You’ll get half the crowds of Santorini and Mykonos and the same stunning beaches and whitewashed buildings.

Getting from Parikia to Naoussa isn’t hard, but airport transportation books up quickly.
