What To Expect At Piperi Beach in Naoussa, Paros
Piperi Beach is Naoussa’s premier town beach. It’s not as beautiful as Kolymbithres Beach or Santa Maria Beach, but it’s far more accessible!
All day throughout the summer, the beach is full of travelers seeking a low-effort patch of sand. It’s less than a 5-minute walk from Naoussa and close to numerous cafes, restaurants, and resorts.
So, while Piperi Beach isn’t necessarily our favorite beach in Paros, it is a nice feature if you’re staying in Naoussa and want a quick morning swim or a place to hang out and sunbathe before heading off to explore the rest of the island.

What to Expect at Piperi Beach
Piperi Beach is a very small beach (100 meters or so) and it is tucked away beneath the village of Naoussa, Paros. It’s a nice respite from the city’s bustling cosmopolitan atmosphere, and we really enjoyed coming here to take a dip in the ocean.
The shoreline is tucked into a small bay on the west end of Naoussa. During the summer, sunbeds are available, and the bay is very clear most days!
You’ll also notice that the beaches are surrounded by luxury resorts. Some of them, like The Sea House, even have direct access to the beach. This means that Piperi Beach can get a little crowded at times, but since people don’t usually stay long, it never feels overcrowded.
If you’re looking for a more peaceful experience, try visiting Piperi Beach in the off-season, when the beach is quiet and less crowded (October – April).
Sunbathing at Piperi Beach
Piperi Beach is not a ‘pebble beach,’ but there are lots of stones, so it may take some extra effort to find a comfortable place to set up your beach towel. Sunbeds and umbrellas are occasionally available during the summer for a price that’s definitely too high for our budget. (€40-50)
It’s also common for tourists to sunbathe on the rocks along each side of the bay. This can be a comfortable option away from tourists with a nice view of Naoussa Harbor.
Swimming at Piperi Beach
The swimming at Piperi Beach is excellent. It’s clean and clear with a nice view of the town, and – like all of Greece – has warm water all summer. Near the shore, the seabed is rocky, but it quickly turns to sand.
Families love bringing their kids here because it’s safe for children, with mellow waves year-round and boats staying far away from the bay.

Some street parking is available near Piperi Beach, but it’s not easy to find. The best option is to walk from your hotel in Naoussa or park in one of the public parking lots if you are coming from another part of the island.

Is Piperi Beach Dirty?
One of the most common complaints about Piperi Beach is that it’s littered with trash and microplastics. We saw these reviews all over Google and TripAdvisor, but after visiting first-hand, we always find the beach to be very clean.
However, the mixed reviews lead us to assume that Piperi Beach may not get cleaned as often as it should.
Hopefully, the city will schedule to have the beach cleaned up shortly before your visit!
Piperi Beach vs. Agio Anargyroi Beach
Agio Anargyroi is another convenient city beach in Naoussa, just east of the Harbor.
The beach is smaller but a bit more sandy than Piperi Beach. It is well-maintained by the hotels along the water, and these hotels put out sunbeds for just €20/couple.
The swimming conditions resemble Piperi Beach – calm, shallow water with a sandy seabed. The one strike against Agio Anargyio is that it’s farther away from Naoussa’s free public parking lots.
While they aren’t the best beaches in Paros, it’s still nice to have some town beaches available!
Restaurants Near Piperi Beach
If you’re looking for a great meal near Piperi Beach, you won’t have to look far. Just a few hundred meters away, you’ll find some of the best restaurants in Naoussa.
- Yemeni is a very popular Mediterranean restaurant. Although it can be pricey, it is sure to provide a memorable meal and a pleasant atmosphere.
- Soso is another excellent choice in Naoussa. This traditional Greek restaurant offers affordable dishes, but it gets jam-packed, so make a reservation!
- Safran is the best restaurant for seafood lovers, offering a fine-dining seafood experience in the heart of Naoussa.
Hotels Near Piperi Beach
Piperi Beach is on the outskirts of Naoussa, so anywhere you stay in the city will give adequate access to the beach. Naoussa is the most ideal place to stay for a short trip to Paros (like 3-4 days). If you’re staying for a few weeks or months, then we prefer to stay in Parikia!

Best Luxury Hotel – Parilio Design Hotels
Parilio Design Hotels is a luxurious resort just off the main street in Naoussa, towards Kolymbithres Beach. The resort offers four beautiful suite designs (Aurora, Halo, Uranus, and Sun) in various styles, prices, and amenities.
There is a buffet breakfast available each morning, a swimming pool, and an on-site restaurant if you don’t feel like going out each night. It’s an excellent place for honeymooners or people looking for a particularly romantic holiday in Naoussa, Paros.
Best Mid-Range Hotel – Adonis Hotel Studios
Although there are a few hotels near Piperi Beach, the most popular one is the Adonis Hotel Studios & Apartments.
It’s extremely ‘homey,’ which makes it great for longer stays, and it’s slightly more affordable than a lot of luxury hotels in the area while still offering a lot of the same perks and amenities. We also recommend this hotel to a lot of couples or small families who really want a great view from their hotel in Naoussa.
For a small surcharge, you can have breakfast on-site with a view of the beach!
Best Budget Hotel – Fotilia Hotel
Fotilia Hotel is another great budget-friendly option in Paros.
This cozy boutique stay in Naoussa is just five minutes from the harbor, and its standout feature is the 18th-century windmill on the property—which is now transformed into a three-story villa known as the ‘Windmill Suite.’ It’s the most sought-after room here, though, so if you’re hoping to stay in it, be sure to reserve it a few months in advance.
Guests also love the secluded outdoor pool area, the complimentary Greek-style breakfast buffet served each morning, and the free transfers from Paros Airport!
More Beaches Near Naoussa
As we said before, Piperi Beach is the most convenient of all the beaches near Naoussa, but it’s not our favorite. There are better beaches in the area. Some of them are just a 10-15 minute drive from town, and some are actually excellent places to stay in Paros.
Kolymbithres Beach: This is easily the most famous beach in the region, and if you visit it in the summer, it will be apparent that this is THE SPOT in Paros. The bustling beach has iconic Seychelles-esque rocks along the water, an awesome beach club, and watersports. We aren’t the biggest fans of crowded beaches, but this one has enough to make it worthwhile.
Monastiri Beach: For a more secluded experience that doesn’t require sacrificing all the typical beach amenities, head 5 minutes further down the road from Kolymbithres Beach. Monastiri Beach is less famous but also has a beach club with great food, a luxurious atmosphere, and sunbeds available for rent.
There are also a few cool hiking trails that start near the beach.
Santa Maria Beach: Roughly 15 minutes northeast of Naoussa. You can easily rent a scooter in Paros and drive here for the afternoon! Sunbeds and food are expensive, but the beach is so much larger than the one in Naoussa town.
Lageri Beach: Before you get to Santa Maria, you’ll pass a small town called Lageri, which has a secluded beach (sometimes naturist) that can be way more relaxing than the other beaches around Nouassa. There’s also a narrow strip of sand connecting Lageri to Nisida Oikonomou, which is a great spot for watersports that doesn’t get much traffic.
Spike Water Adventures has kayaks, sea bikes, SUPs, and even wing foils that you can rent for the afternoon!
Final Thoughts
Piperi Beach might be small, but if you’re staying in Naoussa and looking for a convenient beach, something convenient, it’s definitely worth a visit. To us, it’s a great place to take a morning dip before setting off to explore other parts of Paros!
However, if you’re looking for a beach with more activities, Kolymbithres Beach is a great option.
If you want something more secluded and remote, consider renting a car in Paros and driving to see the red cliffs of Kalogeros Beach!
