How to Rent a Scooter in Paros
Searching for the best scooter rental in Paros can be an overwhelming task. There are a lot of options, so it’s important to do your research and find a company that offers quality service and reasonable rates on their scooters.
It’s possible to wait until you arrive to book a scooter rental, but there is really no benefit to doing this in Paros. You can’t haggle with the agencies, so the only difference in booking on arrival is that there is a high chance many of the scooter agencies will be sold out (especially if you are visiting in the summer).
Therefore, we always book our scooter rentals ahead of time.
Finding the best Scooter Rental in Paros
There are a number of agencies that offer scooter rentals in Paros. In the past, we’ve always looked for the best deals by using an aggregate site (like this one) to search all available rental agencies.
This is still a decent way to go because you can scan a handful of companies at once and find the best rates for your travel dates. There are also user reviews of each type of scooter and agency.
The problem is that they don’t give you the company names upfront.
So, on our last trip to Paros, we wanted to look for a local agency known for customer service.
That’s when we found Paros Summer Travellers.
Their slogan is “come as a client, leave as a friend,” and in all our interactions with them (including while renting a scooter), that’s exactly how we felt!
Some other well-known rental agencies with scooter rentals in Paros are:
- Paros Bike Rentals
- Loukis Rentals
- Chaniotis Rentals (10% off using EXPLOREPASNAX)
- Motorland

If you don’t see any scooters left to book online, you could always walk into their offices in person after arriving in Paros to see if they have any cancellations or other options available (Paros also has ATVs and these Dune-Buggy-ish vehicles for rent).
Once you select a scooter, double-check that it comes with unlimited mileage, free helmets (two if you’re traveling without a significant other), and no hidden fees.
There are also different add-ons that you can select upon booking, such as;
- Hotel Drop-off – HUGE BONUS if they offer this for free.
- Additional full coverage insurance (this is usually like €5-7 per day and we highly recommend)
- Go Pro Camera
- Map of the Island.
Where to Pick Up Your Scooter Rental In Paros
After you book a scooter in Paros, you will select where to pick it up. Most rental agencies offer a few different drop-off locations, including the Paros Airport, Parikia (Seaport), Naoussa, Aliki, or a hotel drop-off.
In our opinion, if you are staying in Paros for a few days, it’s best to select to pick up and drop off your scooter at your hotel.
Scooters are not a “luggage-friendly” vehicle, so it would be a pain to carry all of your stuff on the back of the scooter from the airport to your Paros accomodation. Plus, it’s really easy to get between Parikia (Seaport) and Naoussa or from Paros Airport to Naoussa using public transportation.
How Much Does It Cost To Rent A Scooter In Paros?
It costs $20-40 per day to rent a scooter in Paros, Greece. The exact price depends on the type of scooter and the length of your booking. Typically, a 50- 125cc scooter rental will be €35 ($38) per day. But if you rent the same scooter for one week, the price falls to €23 ($25) per day.
Also, upgrading to you upgrade to 150cc or larger will usually increase the price. And these prices are consistent across Greece, whether you are renting a scooter in Naxos, Zakynthos, Corfu, Santorini, or Athens.
Since two people can ride on a scooter, this is a really affordable way to get around for couples in Paros.
Prices for renting a scooter in Paros can range from €20-€40/day. This depends on the type of scooter you choose, the length of your booking, and what time of year you are traveling.
For example, you can rent a 50- 125cc scooter for €35 per day, but if you rent it for the entire week, the price falls to €23/day. But be aware that the prices always increase during the summer (June-August).
Requirements and Tips: Paros Scooter Rental
Renting a scooter in Paros is pretty straightforward. There is a little bit of paperwork and a couple of requirements to legally rent a scooter on the island but ultimately doesn’t require much effort.
Do I Need A License To Rent A Scooter In Paros?
Yes, you need a driver’s license from your home country to rent a scooter anywhere in Greece, including Paros and Naxos. This must be a license in Category A, A1, or A2 to legally rent a scooter in Paros. This applies to both EU and international visitors.
EU citizens can use their regular license (as long as it doesn’t have the restriction code: 79.03 or 79.04). Non-EU citizens will need an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) in addition to their home driver’s license.

International Driving Permits are relatively easy to get. You can actually purchase one online and have a legit mobile version in minutes!
However, we found ourselves a short drive from an AAA (American Automobile Association), so we just bought one there for about $20. When applying for the IDP, select that you would like it to apply to both cars and motorcycles. This will ensure you have both Class A and Class B on the IDP.
Also, we should note that with an IDP (Class A1 or A) license, you are only allowed to rent a scooter up to 150cc. This size has plenty of power to get around Paros, but it won’t be insanely fast. If you want to rent a scooter 200cc or larger, you will need to hold an A2 driver’s license and be 23 years old.

How old do you have to be to rent a Scooter in Paros?
Legally, you must be at least 18 years old to rent a scooter in Greece. But that doesn’t mean that every rental agency is willing to rent out a bike to you. Some agencies have a minimum age of 22, and others have a small surcharge for drivers between the ages of 18-22
Always double-check that you meet the agency’s age limit before making a reservation.

Do you need a special license to rent a scooter in Greece?
No, you do not need a special license to rent a scooter in Greece. However, you must have a valid driver’s license from your home country and may need an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) if you are a non-EU citizen. This does not require a special test, and it is recognized throughout Greece.

In the U.S., you can obtain an IDP for $20 from any AAA location, or you can get a legit mobile IDP almost instantly with the International Driver’s Association. It’s certainly way easier to do online!

Final Thoughts
We’ve actually used both scooter rentals and car rentals to get around Paroso.
Although it was very easy to get around, the traffic was challenging to navigate, and parking was also difficult. This would be even more of an issue in the summer. Renting a scooter in Paros can make parking and maneuvering through downtown way easier.
We highly recommend using Paros Summer Travellers for your scooter rental in Paros, nut if you’d like to explore all your options, you can always use sites like BikeBooking.com to compare deals from companies all across the island.
Whether you are a couple traveling through Greece or an individual traveler looking for an easy way to get around the island, scooters are a great choice!
