Ultimate Guide to Visiting Marcello Beach, Paros [2026]
Marcello Beach is one of the most accessible beaches in Paros. Just across the bay from the port — you can take a water taxi — it offers a perfect balance between a low-key beach day and upscale beach club vibes.
Yet, it still feels like you’re miles away from the bustling arrivals port.
Most of the best beaches in Paros are actually on the east coast, so we get questions all the time online and in our Facebook Group about where to go for a beach day near Parikia.

And unless you want to make the trip all the way to Antiparos, Marcello Beach is your best bet!
We spent a warm day here in June this year. Crios Beach Bar (the main beach club here) was playing music and full of people, but everywhere else on the beach was super chill, the water was calm, and it’s an epic sunset spot!
Honestly, we were a little skeptical before visiting because of some negative Google Reviews… but we left thinking it was awesome.
We loved having the option to either sprawl out on the sand for free or rent luxury sunbeds at the beachfront bar & restaurant. It’s more affordable than Cabana Beach Club next door, yet still feels tasteful and upscale.
Here’s everything you should know about Marcello Beach to plan the ideal beach day!

Where is Marcello Beach?
Marcello Beach is located just across the bay from Parikia, the main town and port of Paros. You can actually see Parikia while lying on the sand — it’s that close.
Still, the beach feels like a peaceful escape from the town’s energy, with fewer crowds and a slower pace.

How to Get To Marcello Beach
Despite its peaceful vibe, Marcello Beach is one of the most accessible beaches in Paros, especially if you’re based in Parikia. There are a few options to get there.
A Water Taxi is the best option for most people (€6 one-way or €9 round trip). There’s a small stand right at the ferry port where you can buy tickets, and there’s no need to purchase them in advance. Just show up at the dock and get on the next boat (the trip is just 10-15 minutes), and it drops you off right at the beach. The water taxi operates daily during high season.
Since we rented a scooter in Paros, we drove ourselves there and it took less than 10 minutes (if you’re staying on Livadia Beach, it will be even closer). The roads were paved the whole way, and when we got there, we were able to find plenty of parking. There are parking spaces for both scooters and car rentals along the street next to the water taxi pier.
There’s also a seasonal bus to Krios Beach Lounge, and you can always take a traditional taxi. However, the bus timetable fluctuates frequently, and traditional taxis are expensive, so we would always opt for the water taxi over either of these options.
Finally, if you don’t mind a bit of a walk, Marcello is about 45 minutes on foot from Parikia (30 minutes from Livadia Beach). The route hugs the coastline, offering beautiful views the whole way. It’s a great option if you want a free option, or maybe to get some steps in before a swim.

The Beach
Like most of the beaches in Paros, Marcello goes by a few different names/spellings.
Marcello Beach. Martsello Beach, Crios Beach. Krios Beach
For simplicity, we typically view everything west of Crios Beach Bar as Marcello Beach and everything east of it as Crios Beach. Whether you’re there to swim, sunbathe, or chill out with a view of Parikia across the bay, Marcello Beach offers a little bit of everything.

If you’re not into renting sunbeds, there’s plenty of room to lie down a towel on the sand, especially at both ends of the shoreline. These sections are totally free and feel more local and relaxed.
There are also some cheaper sunbeds (€20 per pair) right in front of Pedro Beach Resto at the end of Crios Beach.

The views and the swimming are great, no matter which side of the beach you’re on.
The water here is calm and shallow, making it ideal for floating or simply wading in to cool off. Even better, the ocean floor is soft and sandy, so you don’t need to worry about rocks or sea urchins. It’s a perfect beach for a low-key swim, especially if you’re not into water sports or waves.
If you don’t care too much about water sports and are looking for a laid-back beach day near town with amenities, Marcello is a great choice.

Best Time to Visit Marcello Beach
Marcello Beach is at its best between late May and early October, when the island is in full swing and the weather is reliably sunny. June or September is ideal, though. We visited in June, and it was significantly less crowded than the photos we’ve seen from July and August. You can also get slightly better deals on sunbeds!
During high summer (July and August), the beach does get busier, but there’s enough space on either side of Krios Beach Lounge that you can always find a more peaceful spot without the crowds or the music.

Krios Beach Lounge (Formerly Marcello Beach Club)
Right in the center of the beach is Krios Beach Lounge (formerly known as Marcello Beach Club, so you might still see that name floating around online).
It’s one of the most luxurious beach clubs in Paros, with a very upscale environment and food menu, similar to Cabana Beach Club down the coastline, but slightly more affordable.

The restaurant onsite offers a variety of impressive Greek starters and appetizers, but it’s primarily known for its sushi and fresh fish menu, featuring dishes such as grilled lobster, grouper, sea bass fillet, and fricassee.
While it’s not cheap, the food is supposedly incredible, and getting to eat from a sunbed with a view of the ocean makes it even more of an iconic experience.
If you’re planning to have at least one day splurging on good food and a day on the beach, this is an excellent place to come.
Sunbeds at Crios Beach
The sunbeds are all right in front of Criose Beach Lounge, extremely comfortable, and you can have food and drinks delivered right to your sunbeds.
The prices of sunbeds vary depending on the time of year and how close you want to be to the water.

If you really want a front row seat, we recommend making reservations. By mid-June, the front row sunbeds were completely reserved for every day of July and most of August.
Just note: it’s closed in the off-season, so don’t expect any facilities if you’re visiting in winter.
It’s worth noting that Krios Beach Lounge closes during the off-season, typically from late October through April. If you’re visiting during that time, don’t expect to find food, drinks, or sunbeds available — just the beach itself. Still, the area remains a beautiful spot for a quiet walk or a winter swim if you’re feeling brave.

Marcello Beach Tips & Things to Know
Marcello might be one of the easiest beaches to visit in Paros, but a few tips can help you make the most of your time there, especially if you’re going for the first time.
Bring Your Own Snacks and Water: While Krios Beach Lounge serves food and drinks during high season, prices are high and options are limited. If you’re staying on the free side of the beach, pack your own picnic or stop for snacks & drinks on the way at a mini-market in Parikia.
No Shops Nearby: Unlike beaches closer to town, there aren’t any shops or supermarkets right by the beach. The nearest option would be at Livadia Beach (an 8-minute drive). Plan ahead so you’re not stuck without sunscreen or water.

Great for a Swim, Not for Sports: The beach doesn’t have water sports rentals or a big party scene. It’s perfect for relaxing and swimming, but you’ll want to head elsewhere if you’re looking to windsurf or kayak.
Krios Beach Lounge Closes in Off-Season: If you’re visiting outside the summer months (roughly late November to April), don’t expect to find sunbeds, food service, or music. The beach is still beautiful and swimmable, but everything here will be closed.

Sunset Views: Marcello Beach faces west across the bay, making it a quiet but beautiful spot to watch the sun dip behind the hills near Parikia!

Where to Stay Near Marcello Beach
Marcello Beach doesn’t have the resort density of Naoussa or Golden Beach. Behind the beach, you’ll notice a large resort currently under construction — but it doesn’t look like it’s going to open until 2026.
So, if you’re planning a trip this year, here are the best places to stay for great value and easy beach access!
Omilos Beachfront House (⭐ 8.8)

Just a 30-second walk from the sand, Omilos Beachfront House is an affordable boutique villa tucked just behind Krios Beach Lounge. While things stay quiet in the shoulder and off-season, the summer brings more energy to the beach bars on either side — ideal if you want a mix of chill and social.
The rooms have a modern, minimalist design with warm bamboo accents and neutral tones, creating a calm and grounded vibe. You won’t find lots of onsite amenities, but with the beach at your doorstep and Parikia just a short water taxi away, you might not need them.
Petalides Apartments (⭐ 8.2)

For a quieter stay, Petalides Apartments sits in one of the most peaceful corners of Krios Beach. It’s far enough from the beach bars for privacy, but still within walking distance if you want sunbeds or a drink.
The apartments are bright and simple, with huge windows and — in the best units — ocean views right from bed. There’s no restaurant onsite, but if you want the sound of the sea outside your door, this is one of the best values in the area.
Akrotiri Hotel (⭐ 9.3)

Set in the hillside neighborhood of Krotiri, just a short ride from both Parikia and Marcello, Akrotiri Hotel blends convenience with views. Every room comes with a balcony (sea or garden view), and it’s a 5-minute walk to the beach.
Guests rave about the homemade breakfast and the warmth of the local owners. It’s a great pick for travelers who want to be close to town but not stuck in the middle of the crowds.
Olithos Villas (⭐ 9.9)

If you’re looking for something peaceful, new, and beautifully designed, Olithos Villas is a hidden gem. Located just above Marcello Beach in Krotiri, the property includes three independent villas — Omicron, Lamda, and Theta — each with private terraces and sunset views.
The interiors are minimalist but elegant, and reviews consistently highlight the incredible hospitality of the owner, Ioanna. It’s a perfect option for couples or small groups seeking space, privacy, and style.
More Beaches in Paros to Explore
If you’re spending more than a couple of days on the island, it’s worth checking out a few other beaches nearby. Each one offers a different vibe — from full-on beach clubs to off-the-beaten-path spots.
- Kolymbithres Beach: Known for its smooth granite rock formations and turquoise coves. It’s the most iconic (and most photographed) beach on Paros, but also one of the busiest.
- Santa Maria Beach: Close to Naoussa, but a bit more spacious, and the closest beach to town with soft sand and room to spread out. Also, Santa Maria is great for swimming and watersports.
- Monastiri Beach: The newest beach hotspot in Paros, taking the crown from Kolymbithres, with a lively beach bar and epic swimming with views of the coastline and hiking trails.
- Kalogeros Beach: Famous for its natural clay deposits, people come here to slather on the mud like a spa treatment. It’s a bit of a walk to reach, but it’s worth it.
- Golden Beach: The windsurfing capital of Paros, with long stretches of soft sand, crystal-clear water, and lots of activity. Great for people who want a livelier beach day.
